Katie Redmond x The Giving Keys #TheTrueGift

In one word, what do you think is the true gift of the holidays?

Believe

Why do you think human connection is so important in the world today?

Because without it we can get stuck in our own heads. With all the news coming at us we can drown in negativity, but if we connect with like-minded people, people who will listen and share thoughts, it could be our life raft when we least expect it.

What word is on your key? What does it mean to you?

I have had four keys given to me! But the word I feel the strongest about receiving from another person is INSPIRE. Getting the word inspire from someone else means I’m doing my job. And I don’t just mean on social media, I mean in life. If I can inspire ONE person then I know I am living a life worth living.

Tell us the story of how you have passed on your key or how you plan to pass it on.

I wear my key every day, readily available to pass it on to someone I feel needs it. Over the years I have passed on three keys:

  1. To one of my clients who lost her grandson to SIDS. I remember sending bread to her house and thinking … “What kind of gesture is bread” so one day I came into the salon I worked at on my day off to do her hair and I took the key off around my neck and I gave it to her (I remember being nervous ha) - it said “Believe” and she cried.
  2. The second key I gave was to my kickboxing instructor for believing more in me than I ever thought was possible for myself.
  3. The last key I gave away from around my actual neck in the moment, was to a dear friend of mine that endured MORE than anyone ever should in a lifetime and has done it with Grace and perseverance that only a unique “word” would have been suitable to give her.

Bio:

My name is Katie Redmond, for as long as I can remember my passion for words was much more than just what we see on paper. It is my love language. It is an outlet for expression, passion, and drive. It lead me to become a fitness/health blogger and create my own website. “Words” have always driven me to want to help others.

I became a personal trainer around 14 years ago and started my own wellness program two years ago “12 Rounds of Wellness” to help inspire others to live their best life of health, passion, and dreams! Being a content creator, a hairstylist for the last 23 years based out of Chicago as well as an Amateur kickboxing/boxing champion and mama of 3, I pour everything I have into the task at hand by sharing all the knowledge I have to help others look and feel their best. I want others to truly believe in their mental attitude of “I CAN do it!”
