My wonderful friend Magdalena's birthday is coming up and I had no clue what to get her.
When I learned about The Giving Keys I immediately knew this was the present for her. She always does her best to support anything in need, from volunteering for EVERYTHING (the Humane Society, the library, local festivals) to comforting me when I was a wreck over a death in the family.
In recent weeks we have shared laughter, comforts, and tears. I feel that I've learned so much about her. I am honored that she was able to confide in me some of her darkest secrets and fears; now that I know her strength, perseverance, and determination I have an even greater respect and awe for her than I did before.
When picking out a key, the one that stood out to me was the one that read "Inspire," because she is now my inspiration and role model. I know this key is almost as unique and special as she is. When we graduate she is going to go back to Germany. but a key is a symbol of home and I want her to know that she'll always have a home in Canada. Everyone here loves her, and will miss her. Maggie, when you read this I just want to thank you for being my friend and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! = ) <3
