My best friend of over 40 years has been going through a difficult time. We live far apart so I can't be there for her in person.
Her husband has cancer and has been in and out of remission. He's lost his job and his benefits have run out. My friend is now responsible for caring for him as his illness has affected his memory as well as his physical strength. She also has the responsibility of maintaining their home and property, their pets (horses, cats, dogs), her aging mother, and figuring out how to earn some money in between all that! I was given a key engraved "strength," one year ago today and today, I will mail it to her so that she can have the extra strength to get through this turbulent time in her life.
