I got my key in a Causebox from Sevenly. It had the word "hope" on it, which I loved because there are so many ways in which I want to have hope.
At first I wasn't sure who to pay it forward to. But it became clear when I got an email from a friend saying that she was going to come to my church to hear me give a reflection.
She has been struggling with an unhappy marriage for years, and has been trying very hard to see a way out. But it has been so very difficult for her to make that first step, to envision a new life.
I gave her my key, telling her that I wanted her to have hope. My hope for her is that she allows herself to find happiness, and my key is my way of showing her my love and support.
