Bravery To Fight

On April 5, 2016 my husband, Tony, was told that he has stage 4 cancer in both lungs, some of his bones and his liver. We were told that it is treatable, but, not curable and without chemo, they gave him about 6 months. Needless to say, this was the last thing that we wanted to hear and were in shock.

A few days later, a neighbor came to visit and told us that when she was going through a rough period in her life, she was given The Giving Keys necklace of Bravery and that she was passing the key to us to have bravery in our time of need. We held on to that key and prayed to have faith and strength for Tony while he went through his treatments.

After he started his treatments the end of April, we found out that a dear friend was going through the same thing that we were going through. She is in stage 4 liver cancer and was also told that it is treatable, but, not curable and to top all this off, her daughter is battling breast cancer at the same time.

Even though we only kept the key for a short while, we felt that she could also use some bravery and we passed it on to her and asked her to past it onto her daughter whenever she felt the need to.

We don't know yet what the future holds for Tony or our friend but, we still have our faith, our great support group of family, friends and neighbors and our bravery to fight this terrible disease called, cancer.
