My mother passed away December 20 of this past year. It was unexpected and sudden. I had the greatest possible support system in my friends and family but it was still the hardest thing I have dealt with in my life.
I learned about The Giving Keys from a friend and on a trip to New Orleans I finally found a store that carried them. I picked a key engraved with "Strength" as a reminder to be strong despite losing my mother. I did not think much more of the key until a friend asked to see my necklace. When I took the necklace off and looked at the backside of the key, I found that my mother's maiden name and home town were both on the back of key. It is small things like this that reminds me that my mother is never truly gone. Thank you for this small sign and for all the good you do.
