I got my giving key from my sister last year for Christmas. About a year before that, I moved across the country to California with my mom and brother to follow my dreams of one day becoming a singer or actor. Therefore, my sister gave me a key that said DREAM.
Later on that year I passed along the key to my boyfriend at the time because he was going through family troubles and other difficult issues. After we broke up he went to an event where he met a girl who was struggling with many things like self harm. He made her promise that if he gave her the key that she would stop harming herself and to learn love who you are and enjoy what life has to give you. Even though I was upset that I would not get to see the key ever again, I was very happy that it made a difference in someone's life. This is what I believe The Giving Keys is all about.
