I Had Lost A Sense Of Who I Was

They say people come into your life when you least expect it. A man in my life is living proof of that. One snapchat while we were many states away lead to the most treasured friendship I have ever had. After nearly seven years of no contact whatsoever, that streak was broken, why, we don’t know but it makes our story that much greater. Two months before that snap came my world turned upside down. I had hit rock bottom. I had lost a sense of who I was and isolated myself. I was giving up on my hopes, dreams, and happiness. When he reached out, had I not been able to slap on a little makeup and hid behind a smile, I would have never responded. Thank God I did. That is the day that changed my life. In less than a years’ time I am chasing my dreams, gaining confidence in who I am, and letting positivity overcome the negativity.
Without a doubt, I would not be where I am without him. He has carried me through the hurt, pain, and anger and not judged one second of it. He has allowed me to fall off the edge, find my way back up, and still care for me the same. He has been my backbone when I’ve felt like every part of life was shattered. He has supported and believed in me when I’ve been uncertain. He has been proud of me with each minor accomplishment I achieve. He has encouraged me and pushed me to my limits. He is hundreds of miles away, but he is right by my side. With every ounce of my being, I am forever grateful to one incredible man I call my best friend.
