Our Friendship Has Been Strained

I bought my Giving Key bracelet almost a year ago. I almost exclusively wear only jewelry that really has special meaning to me, and I immediately LOVED your mission. I haven't really had that perfect someone to pass my key bracelet along to until now. It has the word "LOVE" stamped on it.
My friend of almost 40 years has been through a lot of very difficult and trying times over the course of our friendship. Infertility, then divorce, job loss, death of her parents and then watching her second husband die of colon cancer.............all within a few years. In the past year alone, she has had her own colon removed, and had multiple other surgeries.
At times, our friendship has been strained because of her needs, and right now we are somewhat "sideways" over a few harsh words spoken out of anger due to a misunderstanding.
The idea of giving her my bracelet occurred to me on Easter Sunday. Though not a particularly religious person, I have a strong spiritual sense, and do believe that love and kindness are gifts we share with our fellow human beings............even those we feel have hurt us in some real, or perhaps just perceived manner.
I don't know yet how my gift of the bracelet will be received, but the act of giving it has brought me peace and serenity.
