I received my key from my best friend, Jon. I was going through difficult times in my work as an artist…jobs were hard to find, I was feeling taken advantage by certain people in my industry, my enthusiasm was flagging. When things seemed at their worst, he gave me a small metal key with the word “CREATE” stamped on it. So simple, so powerful. It reminded me of what got me into this business in the first place: my love for art, my need to create. This reset my focus, and now I am much more fulfilled in my art and my career. Now I think it’s time for me to give away my Giving Key. Another dear friend of mine, a photographer whose work I greatly admire, is leaving the country. I hope that in her travels, this key inspires her the way it’s inspired me.
