As a pretty tenured professional, I recently started a new job. Two months in, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. I was scared for my health, worried about how my employer would react, and feeling alone since I barely knew my new coworkers. A woman that I had not met yet had recently returned from her own medical leave. She reached out to me to share her story and answer questions. The next day, I found a wonderful note with a STRENGTH key necklace. I was so touched by her kindness and knew I would be ok in my health and my job. My husband wore the necklace which also held my wedding rings during my surgery and recovery. Today, I'm cancer free and sending my strength to a person in the midst of a health crisis. I hope he will find as much comfort as I did wearing it.
