I received the key of "COURAGE" from my sister-in-law when I was diagnosed with AML, an aggressive leukemia. I carried this key with me in my purse for a full year as I went through 7 harsh chemo treatments at MD Anderson, 1400 miles from my home. Today I am cancer free and feel grateful for the people in my life and the people I met through this journey. I now pass this key onto my dear friend who is also battling a type of leukemia, ALL. She is reborn today, receiving her stem cell transplant. What a wonderful day with the hope of a long healthy life after this disease. I encourage all to continue fighting and stay strong when battling illness. A favorite quote of mine after receiving my diagnosis, "this is a chapter in your life, not the whole story". Keep fighting the fight. God bless and prayers.
