The Look on Her Face

Kaylin and I have been friends since we were 9 years old, and we are now 21.

She was the most beautiful, joyful, happy and charismatic person in the whole world. You never knew when she was sad or having a bad day because she always had the most beautiful smile on her face.

However on December 19, 2015 our world flipped upside down. There was a tragic accident and Kaylin was taken from us and put onto life support. I rushed down to the hospital as soon as I knew what happened. I was sitting in ICU along with her parents, sister and aunts staring at Kaylin, waiting for my friend to wake up.

They decided later in the afternoon that it was time to pronounce her dead but to leave her on life support because she was an organ donor. Then, it dawned on me.

My giving key that read Faith I no longer needed. I went over to my friend Kaylin's mother as she was leaning over her daughters hospital bed, and I gave her my Faith key. At that time, I felt she needed to have Faith more than I did.  I will never forget the look on her face.
