Courage To See And Touch

I received a key with courage engraved on it when I joined MOPS International. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. I have worn this key for a little over 2 years. During this time it has reminded me of the times I had courage to do things like start a MOPS group in a town where I knew pretty much no one, adopt 6 embryos even though the chance of their survival were extremely low, and give birth at home in a birthing pool with NO pain medication. For a mom who had previously had two induced, epidural, hospital births, that last one took a lot of courage! I know my courage comes from God alone, but it was nice to have a tangible thing to see and touch during those times.

I'm now gifting this key to my best friend's daughter for her graduation. As she heads out into the world beyond high school I want her to have something to remind her that she is amazing and full of courage. That no matter what she has been through or will go through, God can light up those dark places and give courage to face it all. May this key be a reminder for her to have the courage to fight for what's right, to overcome obstacles, but also to love deeply.
