I was told about this organization through one of my classes, and fell in love with what it was all about. That night, I purchased two keys with words that were powerful to me, Strength and Faith. My life has been one obstacle after another, and if it weren't for faith and the strength my momma has given me, well, some days I don't know if I would be here. So those are my words, I always have faith that everything will work out the way it's supposed to, but some days I still need a reminder that I'm strong enough to get through anything. So these necklaces are beautiful and powerful, and I love the idea of how I can pay them forward. I am a hairdresser, and along with being a hairdresser, you are a therapist as well. You hear every problem from your clients because they too need someone to talk to. The other day in the salon, a lady came in who needed a pick me up, which by the way, is why I love my job. I get to be the boost in women's self esteem; I get to help make them feel beautiful again, and that is such an amazing reward. Anyways, she is feeling more than just not beautiful, she has lost her faith. She told me how she hasn't been able to find a job in about six to eight months, her one daughter has an hormone imbalance and anxiety issues, the other daughter is mad that she is on medication because she doesn't believe in it. Along with that, she just found out that she has cancer. The daughter is about to graduate and her father that was out of the picture has decided that he wants to be a part of her life again but financially help in any way. Her dad also just passed away, and the story goes on. She is beaten down, her faith is lost, and she doesn't know when it's going to turn around for her. I gave her my necklace that said Faith, told her about the organization, and she cried. However the story gets better – I asked her to come back in two days to try a new toner on her hair, and when she was sitting in my chair two days she got a phone call saying that she had received a job that day. 💜
