I chose BREATHE as my word for my key. Holidays are hard on people for a variety of reasons. For me, they are tough because I lost my 4-year-old son, Craig, to a drunk driver several years back. The impact to our car broke so many bones in my body that for the 1st 3 months after the wreck I could not even scratch my own nose because of the casts.
During the holidays, you miss the child you lost more than normal. The pain never goes away, but unfortunately, the holidays are the hardest for me.
I hope my BREATHE key will help me to just relax during the hurt and remind me that I will see my son again one day in Heaven!
