I received a Giving Key the same year we lost our daughter. I've held on to it for three years as a reminder of the community that selflessly held me up when I needed it most. Today, I'm giving the key away to a friend who lived across the world from me at that time, yet supported me through every step of my journey of loss and grief. She now lives nearby and is undergoing testing for breast cancer. While she awaits results, I am trying to support her by providing company and help bring distraction (at her request.) I felt that this COURAGE key would be a great way to show her that I'll be here to walk with her whatever news comes this week. She will understand the magnitude of its promise given the story this key already holds.
