Ruthie Ridley x #BlackoutHomelessness
I want to blackout homelessness this holiday season because I have seen homelessness rise rampantly here in Sacramento. I realize that the root is much greater than finances - it comes down to resources and mental health. Anything I can do to help, I will. My Matte Black Key Necklace says “FREEDOM.” It’s a word that I’ve had to discover. I’ve learned its meaning in my walk with the Lord through hard experiences and through learning to fully believe in the truth of what it means to be FREE. FREEDOM is mine. I am still unwrapping this gift daily, but I can honestly say that I have never been more FREE than I am in this very moment. When I think of passing my key on, I think of a friend I have that could use this declaration. Right now, I’m praying that her fight is a little less difficult than mine was. I’m hoping that this gesture will have an impact on her life and that as she wears this declaration of "FREEDOM," she will experience its meaning in a new way. I’m inspired to give by seeing people fight through hard seasons - by watching them push through toward their destinies. I love giving gifts that have meaning and depth, a word or an object that encourages a person to keep going or reminds them that they are on the right track. FREEDOM is yours. Have belief and awareness in the power of your words, your presence, your mindset, and your attitude. You can change the course of someone’s day, even someone’s entire life, by just being you. Focus on the intangible gifts in your everyday life. This season, shine your light.
