My Story
In the summer of 2019 I was floored to discover my husband was having an affair. It was awful. I won't go into the layers of lies and manipulation but I was devastated - as many before me have found themselves.
I ultimately filed for divorce as the relationship turned abusive. A friend was gifted a giving key when she found out her husband was having an affair, and then went through a subsequent divorce. Two years later - lots of therapy, time, healing, and one fantastic solo beach trip - I was not just me again, I was the best version of me.
I had and still have gratitude toward my ex for giving me a second chance at building a brand new life of my dreams. This summer, 2021, I discovered a friend of mine was going through a very similar story. I packed up the original letter from my friends sister and giving key, my friends letter, and wrote one of my own.
The giving key and previous letters arrived to my friend today. Tears were shed by both of us, and quote "I can't wait to give this courage away one day". I hate that people's hearts are broken, and that people break hurts in such deeply personal ways. However, we can and we will survive. The courage found within reminds us of that .
