My Giving Key necklace was gifted to me by one of my students. It was a gift that made me cry! I decided to gift my Key to my mother! She is the strongest woman I have ever met, a true inspiration to all who know her. My mom has been battling cancer for almost 7 years. She conquered breast cancer twice and recently has had multiple surgeries that attempted to remove the tumors in her muscle and bone. I went with her to her appointment today, I held her hand as the surgeon told her that the next step would be amputation...Her words were "whatever it takes." My mom is the picture of strength and bravery, she is my hero and a deserving recipient of my key.
