I ordered my Giving Key with the word "love" engraved on it. I had no one in particular in mind when I ordered it. I just wanted it.
About 2 months ago, my Grandma Rita was diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer. A trachea tube was immediately put in as well as a feeding tube. To watch my grandma go from such an active lady to tired and weak from the chemo was devastating to me and my family. After two rounds of chemo, the doctors told our family that the tumor was not responding and they had found cancers in both lungs as well as her liver.
Last night I went to visit my Grandma in the hospital. I told her the story behind The Giving Keys and how I had my key at my house just waiting until I was compelled to give it to someone who needed the word on the key - LOVE.
She wrote on her notepad, "This is very special. You know I like simple things like this. I love it. Thank you. I want to be buried with it."
