My Giving Key was a symbol of so many things.
My Strength key was given to me by my best friend, my soul sister, and one of the most thoughtful people I know. As I've read through many of these stories, I recognized many of the same reasons that so many of us have received these keys.
My best friend Rae bought me this key to remind me that I have strength not just in myself, but always strength in the relationship I have with God, my church, my fiance, my family and my friends.
Two months ago, my world was flipped upside down. My dad, my confidante, my favorite person and just all around a Godly man who made so many lives better just by being himself, lost his battle to lung and brain cancer.
Like many people, I went through the destructive stage and then realized that my dad wouldn't want me to live my life that way. I decided the best way I could honor my dad, is to live my life the way he always instructed me to do.
When Rae gave me my key, she didn't have to explain why she chose the word Strength. I know I have it from God, my dad in heaven, my amazing support team and a best friend who know exactly which word summarizes my approach to life: STRENGTH.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" - Psalm 41:6
