A Heart Filled With Strength

I received a giving key about a year ago from my beautiful daughter Jessie. The key had the word STRENGTH on it and she told me that she hopes she can be as strong as I am when faced with what life throws at you. I loved this gift and thought how could I ever give this away, but knew in my heart it really was not mine to keep. I also thought that it would be years before I found someone worthy enough to receive this key from me (it was such a special gift).

Well, fast forward 11 months and this same daughter came to me and asked if a friend of hers could join us for Thanksgiving dinner. Her parents were out of the country seeking an aggressive chemotherapy treatment for her father who has cancer. She is an only child and has no other family in the area. I said absolutely, and then what came immediately to mind was my giving key. I knew right then and there that this young girl needed all the strength she could get to help her and her parents through this time. This felt so right, so I have passed on the key and will carry this gift in my heart, now and always.
