This is a copy of the letter I just gave to my good friend Sylvia, last night, as she lay in the hospital bed. Sylvia has been battling leukemia for the past 8 months and has shown such strength of faith and courage that I am humbled. Sylvia has two teenage daughters who are also showing strength and courage as they are trying to manage without their mother at home with them. Tomorrow Sylvia will find out if the cancer has returned or if she is in remission. We cried and prayed that she will be cancer free but most of all that she will continue to have COURAGE as she lives each day for the LORD.
My Dear Friend Sylvia,
I'm giving you this key of "courage" because of your strong faith and bravery as you are battling with cancer. This key is to give you courage and to remind you that God is your strength and your hope as you continue to fight you fears and the pain. Remember the words of our LORD..."Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
I will continue to be with you also and will pray for you daily.
