A Daughter's Love

When my daughters gave me a STRENGTH key for Christmas, I was curious as well as grateful. Through many challenges in my life I have used strength to see me through. I have also had moments where no strength was within reach and I had to dig deep to find it.

Inevitably I found the strength to get me through.

Passing the key on had me curious as well. I knew that the right moment in time would present itself.

A little over a week ago, my nephew's fiancee lost her mom to cancer. Her mom was the same age as I am.

Hearing of Janine's loss made me think of how precious the time with her mom was, and how their strength held them together until her passing. Janine was able to take her mom wedding dress shopping so that she could pick out her dress for her special day. I can only imagine that that moment will be pressed in time for Janine as she celebrates her wedding day with her mom's eyes looking upon her from heaven.

I'll be passing my key on to Janine this Thanksgiving so that she can hang onto it and use it to get her through these next days, months, and even in the moments years later when she misses her mom the most.

We are all blessed to have our mothers and our daughters. Sometimes the strength we need to carry us through is living in the arms of them.
