My key was a sign of my faith and of all those that were supporting me and my family on this journey. It was a visual reminder that brought me peace and comfort.
. . .
I received a “COURAGE” Giving Key from a friend in my Bible Study. The woman who gave me the key received it from her sister in law during a time when her daughter had spent over a year dealing with major unexpected health issues.
Her daughter’s journey was amazing to learn about: She was limited in so many ways but slowly started to walk again and her vision was restored. When my pregnant daughter was told at her 20 week ultrasound that her first child would have major health issues, my friend passed on her “COURAGE” key to me.
Over the next several months of biweekly ultrasounds, my key was a sign of my faith and of all those that were supporting me and my family on this journey. It was a visual reminder that brought me peace and comfort.
My new baby granddaughter was supposed to have multiple surgeries after the birth and was to be in the neonatal intensive care unit for up to two months, but instead, everything went smoothly and she was back home two days after she was born.
I attribute the health miracles of my friend’s daughter and my granddaughter to God, but the power of being reminded daily to have and keep COURAGE by my key had such a strong effect on me.
Tomorrow, I’m gifting my key to a person in my life that is also in the midst of many trials. I hope and pray that it will be a symbol to her, as it was to me, that we are never alone.
