I mentor a group of teens at my church. One of them, who is going into 9th grade, has a very special place in my heart. She doesn't know how incredibly beautiful she is both inside and outside.
The other day, she posted a photo of herself doing the "duck face," and you could tell she spent a lot of time making this pose "perfect." I texted her (jokingly but also seriously) that she was way better and cuter than a duck face photo asking if she was cute. This upset her and she ended up deleting the photo. We talked later that day and I apologized if I hurt her feelings. This sweet teen doesn't understand how worthy she is, how much she is loved, how much she is MADE in the image of God.
So, today, I met up with her and told her the incredible story of The Giving Keys. As I laid the necklace around her neck and told her why I was giving it to her, tears filled her eyes. I expressed to her that she is a daughter of the King and scripture tells us that she is MADE in His image–perfect. (Genesis 1:27)
I love this girl to much and wanted to pass along the necklace to encourage her, show her my love, and remind her of her amazing Creator! Thank you, The Giving Keys team. I am beyond blessed to have this special opportunity.
