I am a two-time cervical cancer survivor.
While battling the monster for the second time, my 6-year-old son came up to spend time with his father, and his father decided to fight me for custody.
I was living in Florida and he was in Pennsylvania. He was a long time correctional officer and all of the judges and police knew him. I was out of work, going through chemo, and I felt I was losing an uphill battle of life and now also motherhood.
Near the end of my journey, I received the STRENGTH key. It reminded me that, if I could beat cancer twice, I could do anything.
I am proud to say, I am living with my son again and that, at the exact moment of receiving this key, both my life and my perspective changed.
Today, I am paying it forward. One of my best friends of over 20 years is struggling with MS. Her symptoms are becoming more severe ever so slowly. I am over 1,500 miles away, but she is always in my heart and prayers. It is time for her to find her inner STRENGTH! Thank you Giving Keys. This is an amazing gift!
