My SIL gave me the Strength necklace 2 years ago. After one night of discussing our stories and getting to know one another, she gave me the necklace the next day.
I have dealt with the loss of my mom to breast cancer, a divorce, and I am now dealing with breast cancer myself at age 31.
Through every life circumstance, I have truly seen and felt God's presence and strength with me through it all!
My cancer journey started the day of my son's 2nd birthday. I had a biopsy to confirm I had breast cancer a few days later. It has always crossed my mind that I may get cancer because my mom was diagnosed the 1st time when she was 32, but I never thought it would happen to me. I had a double mastectomy two weeks ago and all the cancer was removed. In the give weeks that I awaited surgery, my cancer didn't grow or spread, but rather the tumor was two times smaller when it was removed.
My hope is to bring awareness to early-age breast cancer and to encourage and bring hope as well as comfort to those walking through the same thing.
More of my story is on a blog I created to inform friends & family- carlywisnewski.com.
I want to pass this necklace along to another cancer warrior who needs the encouragement and tell her that she has the strength to endure all that comes along with a cancer diagnosis.
We are so much more than having cancer, I refuse to let it define who I am.
