My Story
The meaning behind passing this word to my dearest friend would be: remember who you are at your core. Inspired by Radiohead's song with the same name, it refers to the reconstruction we make of people after they hurt us. We become bitter and resentful towards them as a process of moving on. People hurt other people but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re bad. Our resentment doesn't define them, in the same way it doesn't define us when it’s directed to ourselves. I wanted him to have ‘the key’ to seeing himself as he is, always, even if other people don’t. When you know who you are it’s impossible for the world to convince you otherwise.
