My very dear friend Kim is terminally ill, fighting a combination of 5 diseases which no one else in the world has. In spite of that, Kim is an avid runner and recently completed a 50K trail race. This is especially incredible given she has Lupus, painful benign bone tumors, and RA to name a few. As you can tell, her diseases do not define her.
Kim lives by the motto "there is no me in we"...a direct correlation to the outreach project she started called We Finish Together. Donated race medals are given to people in need of a lift. Kim always wants people to know that someone out there does care and they are never alone.
Kim's vibrant personality draws people to her. And without even realizing it she is a source of comfort and security for many. Her smile is contagious and love for her family and friends is immeasurable. She inspires me to be a better person everyday. And for that I am forever grateful to her!
