I was lost in what to get my BFF for her birthday and suddenly I knew when I heard about The Giving Keys. She is fearless and I always wished I had that in me. I knew that someone would need her strength someday. So, I made a key for her that said “Courage.” I told her that this quality was something I always admired in her and I thought there would be someone out there that needed her fearlessness. It may be a week or 20 years from now, but I knew there would be someone she needed to give it to.
It isn’t often that I see her cry, but she looked up at me with tears in her eyes after I explained the gift to her and she said, “I’m not sure there’s anyone I’ll feel comfortable giving this to.”
I’m looking forward to when that day comes.
