A Transplant Miracle Giving Strength

My husband was diagnosed with a rare liver disease about 8 years ago. We have 3 beautiful healthy and smart daughters. We have been married over 16 years and have loved every minute of our lives together. My husband is a warrior, a true hero and pillar of strength despite his disease that took him to the brink of death this summer. Ours is a long story, but he was given new life this July at UCLA when he received his liver transplant. We had many, many friends and family support us through this scary journey, but one of the little magical moments was when a good friend gave me my key of strength. My husband was so ill, he couldn't eat, could hardly speak because his liver was so distended. I fought so hard every day to keep our girls mentally strong and to keep hope alive in our home. We were so blessed this summer with this miracle of life.
I am now passing my key to a dear friend who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She is a strong beautiful amazing woman who offered her liver to my husband. Even though he needed a full liver, her generosity in giving was amazing. Now she is the one who needs strength and healing. I'm hoping this key is just what she'll need to help her though.
