I got my key at the coast. It is inscribed with the word, "Believe." I gave it to a dear friend of mine who is going through a difficult time. She's been having health issues, her father-in-law is terminally ill, and work has been stifling. She has been withdrawn from those of us who care about her. And so, why "believe?"
Because I've known her for almost thirty years, I want her to believe that she will survive. I want her to believe that people care about her and what is happening. I want her to believe that she is loved. I want her to believe that we will continue to be here for her. I want her to believe in the power of enduring friendships. And I want her to believe that things will get better.
