Being Part of Her Journey
I was given this key for my birthday a few years back by a younger coworker who eventually became a friend. We started out as work acquaintances, then we began to do things together outside of work, and then we slowly but surely turned into genuine friends. In the course of our friendship I mentored her as she became a teacher, like me. Although our friendship has ebbed and flowed over the years, we’ve always been close but still at a distance in some way, and this lovely gift that told me all she had never said out loud about being INSPIRED to choose her career path. Soon it will be time for me to pass this along to another friend who is thinking about becoming a teacher. I look forward to being a part of her journey too.
