EMPOWER: to give someone the authority or power to do something. That's what I see on my wrist every single day, thanks to my loving mother who sees more potential in me than I could ever see in myself.
Two years ago I wanted to be a professional dancer. For an entire year I put my heart and soul into two auditions at separate dance schools, and at both auditions I was told, "No." I was told I wasn't good enough to be a professional dancer, and I would not be pursuing my dream of dancing for the rest of my life. I was devastated, and I had given up for a long time.
Fast forward to today, to the time when I have finally found my calling: teaching others dance in order to empower and inspire them to pursue their passions. Some days are better than others, but when a parent comes to you with tears in their eyes saying, "Thank you for teaching her to never give up." I can't help but love my job and be thankful for every life I have been able to touch.
Even though you have been told no, maybe even more than once, you were given life for a reason, and it is your job to find what you're passionate about, share your story, and empower others to do great things with their beautiful life.
