Still Breathless

I received my key from a friend when I was 20 weeks pregnant with twins.

I had struggled with infertility for years, then learned that my babies might have severe genetic disorders along with kidney issues that could require dialysis and transplants. I could hardly breathe I was so brokenhearted.

I carried my key with me like a security blanket throughout my pregnancy and subsequent doctors' visits. Having this key reminded me that I'm strong enough to handle whatever life throws my way.

My babies were born six weeks ago. One will require a few kidney surgeries down the line but is expected to live a normal, healthy life. When I look at my babies now, I am still breathless with how amazing they are. It's time to pass my key along to a friend who needs strength to overcome her own struggles.
