Brittany Packnett’s Future Is...

My key for 2019 says “POWER.” It is my deepest belief that all people are infinitely powerful. Together, we have the ability to shape a world that works equitably for us all.  I am committed every single day to making contributions of love and power, to creating that kind of world and empowering other people to do the same. In everything I teach, speak about, write or design my hope is to redefine POWER. POWER is not a scarcity but rather exists in abundance.  I will continue to provoke people to think about how they can redefine POWER in their own lives and to always remember: Wield your POWER in the ways love tells you to. That is how we manifest justice. When 2018 began, I decided I wanted its theme to be Joyfully Unafraid. I had the sense that the year would be full of adventure and I wanted to approach adventure with joy.  Sure enough, seeing change with a lens of gratitude rather than dread changed my heart and my mind. Now? I see change more and more as an opportunity - my fear matters less than my purpose. This coming year, I want to get beyond defining my worth by the things I have accomplished. I am worth more than my earthly labor.  In a space where we define people's worth by their productivity, grind, and hustle, I want to learn to value myself not just by what I've done for others, but by who God says I am, inherently. You had a purpose before anyone had an opinion.  We're depending on you to fulfill it.
