Strength for What’s Ahead
We could all use more STRENGTH. I wore my “STRENGTH” key almost every day until I went to visit my friend at the children’s hospital. She had just given birth to her daughter, Norah, and they found out that she was born with Trisomy 18. With this came a lot of developmental problems, mainly with her heart. Her life expectancy wasn’t long, it was almost a miracle that she was born. My friend needed STRENGTH far more than I did. So I gave my key to her. Norah passed away this month, just shy of turning four months old. I can’t imagine what my friend is going through, but attending a funeral for an infant was the saddest thing I’d ever experienced. I hope the reminder of STRENGTH helps her through the days ahead. -Rebecca
