My mom was diagnosed with colorectal cancer on May 13, 2016, and the next day found out that it had spread to her ovaries. She THEN had a stress test to see if her heart was strong enough to under go surgery to remove her ovaries, in which it was not. She had some blockage. They then performed an angioplasty in order for her to under go surgery for her ovaries to be removed. They removed both ovaries, she was in the hospital for a total of 3 1/2 weeks. She started chemo on June 29th.
One of my sweet co workers had went on a 2 week vacation, and the Monday she returned I came to my desk with a gift bag sitting on it. I opened the card first, and of course tears starting rolling down my face. I look to see what else was hiding in there and it was a key necklace with the word HOPE on it. I then immediately gave the card and necklace to my mom. Since she received it she has not taken it off! I HAD to have one for myself. So I ordered myself one with the word FAITH. I will wear it daily just as my mom does, she will know she has the HOPE to beat this yucky cancer, and I/we have the FAITH that she will beat this.
