I thought, "Who would buy this necklace to give it away?!" But then it happened.
My word for this year was BRAVE, so I bought a necklace to remind me of it often. One day my best friend told me he'd be leaving to start a new chapter of his life. The night before he left we cried all night, hating to say goodbyes, but I was proud of him. As I turned to walk away, I took off my necklace and left it hanging from the rearview mirror.
I know he'll need to be reminded to be BRAVE in this new season, but even more so to remember that I am proud of him making the hard choice to leave the comfortable.
