I bought my necklace with a lock on it about a year ago. I actually couldn't imagine giving it away. Then one day a friend of mine had a rough weekend. She was treated rudely by some friends and when I heard about it the first thought that came to mind is "I'm going to give her my necklace." I knew that it was the right decision and she was the perfect person to receive it. We had a girls night out planned so I put it in an envelope with a card explaining everything.
This friend works for a high-end jewelry company and this necklace is nothing fancy. But she wears it proudly and tells me all the time how honored she is that I gave it to her. It was totally the right person at the right time.
I plan on buying one for my future daughter-in-law for Christmas.
