My Story
During Christmas In 2011 I was gifted a giving key by one of my closest friends with the word "Strength" on it. Everything in my life had come to this point of great struggle and sadness I moved back home to find I was not welcome by family after what felt like the longest 2 years of my life and getting the courage to leave a very unhealthy relationship, I had nothing but my 4 year old son who is more important to me than anything else in the world, he is my rainbow baby so I had to work extra hard to get him!
I struggled and clawed my way back to living solid on my own two feet got a great career off the ground as a CNA, my own home. I was finally very comfortable with all aspects of my life when I got hit with the news that I had a stage 4 skin cancer, shortly after my first few rounds of chemo my son's father who had not seen him since he was 1 year old and his new wife decided they wanted full-custody so I had to fight twice as hard as my state did not care how long it had been since my son's father had seen him.
I was weak and the sickest I have ever been in my life and had to go in front of a judge and mediator every week and defend myself and my son. I kept this key around my neck at all times from when I received it, I would look at it when needed or run my fingers along the word "Strength" when I needed it the most. Until it felt like I was done with it, It has sat in it's bag since 2015 and I have kept my eyes and heart open to who would need it next. Now I have found the person that needs it most and will pass it along.
