I loved my key necklace so much, I honestly had trouble imagining a scenario where I'd ever give it away. But I figured, when the time was right, I'd know. And I did.
I was at dinner last night with a couple friends and one of my friends was sharing how she was about to leave her "safe" job to start her own business. She vacillated between feeling confident that she would get enough work to be able to sustain her family and feeling incredibly scared about jumping off into the abyss of the unknown.
At the end of the night, we were standing outside of the restaurant saying our goodbyes when my other friend mentioned something about the key I was wearing. And then it hit me! It's time to give it away! I took it off, looked at the future entrepreneur in our midst, and told her that the necklace was hers now.
I told her the key represents COURAGE, and that I've been waiting to give it away to someone who could use a little COURAGE. So, I put it around her neck, gave her a hug, and told her I looked forward to hearing about the business the next time I saw her. It was magic.
